Air conditioning servicing and repairs in Torbay & South Devon
Regular servicing keeps a system cheaper to run and less likely to fail on a hot day. We look after systems we fitted and ones other people fitted, in homes and businesses across Torbay and South Devon.

Air conditioning servicing for homes
An air conditioning system doesn't usually fail in one go. Filters clog, coils get dirty, refrigerant pressures drift, and you notice it as weaker airflow and a higher bill. Most manufacturers want an annual service to keep the warranty valid, so a yearly visit keeps the cover in place as well as the efficiency.
We service systems we fitted and ones other people fitted. If the original install is why it misbehaves, we'll say so, and we can look at a repair or a replacement from there.
Once a year is the usual rhythm for most homes. You don't need to wait until it ices up in August.

Commercial air conditioning servicing and repairs
A salon or kitchen that loses cooling mid-season is a closed afternoon and a full booking book. Planned maintenance is cheaper than an emergency call when diaries are already full. Busy commercial sites (kitchens, salons, server cupboards) often need a visit twice a year, not once.
We fault-find systems that are noisy, icing up or not reaching temperature, whether or not we originally installed them. Repairs are a normal part of the work. We diagnose it on site rather than guessing from the indoor unit cover.
If someone else fitted it, we're still happy to take it on. We'll say if the original install is the problem, then we decide whether it's a service, a repair, or a conversation about replacing it.

What an F-Gas air conditioning service includes
A service includes more than wiping the filters. The checklist we've used for years covers filter and coil cleaning, drainage, electrical connections, refrigerant pressures and controller diagnostics. Because we're F-Gas certified we can legally handle refrigerant if a top-up or leak check is needed.
You get a written report afterwards: what was checked, pressures if they were taken, and anything that's starting to fail. Useful for warranties, and on commercial sites for your records.
One-off visits are fine. Annual or twice-yearly plans are useful if you want the visit booked in before the warm weather.
Air conditioning servicing FAQs
- Once a year for most homes. Busy commercial sites (kitchens, salons, server cupboards) often need it twice. If the manufacturer warranty asks for an annual visit, keeping that up helps the cover stay valid.
- No. A proper service includes coils, drainage, electrics and refrigerant pressures. We're F-Gas certified, so we can legally handle refrigerant as part of that visit.
- Yes. Fault finding and repairs are a normal part of the work, including kit we didn't originally install.
- A service report after every visit: what was checked, pressures if they were taken, and anything that's starting to fail. Useful for warranties and, on commercial sites, for your records.
- Yes. Annual or twice-yearly visits, booked in so the system is ready before the warm weather. One-off visits are fine too.
- Usually, yes. Noisy, icing up, not cooling, or not heating. We diagnose it on site. If the kit is at the end of its life we'll say so, and we can talk about replacing it rather than keeping on with parts.
